Preparation For Your Shoot Day With Zoe Taylor Media Productions
1.
Prepare and try on your outfit beforehand
You want to look and feel your best on the day of your shoot. Don’t be afraid
to be adventurous with what you wear though. Your photoshoot is your day to
shine and to wear clothes that maybe normally you wouldn’t feel comfortable
wearing in your day to day life. It is a day to feel empowered, special, and
unique. So wear something that makes you excited and ready to slay.
2.
Find some extra inspiration
I will assist you with mood boards and the style for your shoot beforehand,
but you may also want to find some poses or looks you would also like to try
at your session. If you haven’t done a lot of photoshoots before, then finding
some poses and looks beforehand may help give you some inspiration for
what you would like to do on the day of. Nothing is too crazy or weird! I am
always open to getting creative and trying new things.
3.
Practice hair and makeup
If you don’t have a hair and makeup person for your shoot, you may want to
practice some different looks beforehand to figure out which one will be
perfect for your session. Ideally it’s best to figure out what kind of hair and
makeup will work best with your outfits before your session so you can come
in looking and feeling your best.
4.
Figure out and gather any props you may want or need for your shoot
I am all about getting creative at a photoshoot. If there are any props you may
want to use or just try out, you are more than welcome to bring those along
as well! Make sure to plan which props you may want to bring beforehand. If
you are unsure if you want props or not, you can always ask me, and I can
send over some inspo!
5.
Eat, drink, and rest before your photoshoot
Your photoshoot is more than just getting your pictures taken. It is a whole
experience where you will want to have fun and feel your best. This is your
moment to feel empowered and confident. The day is about you and
celebrating your unique qualities. It’s not just about the end product, but it is
a memorable and fun experience as well.
Posing Tips
1. Bring your ears forward and don’t tuck your chin. You’ll want to bring
your head out a tiny bit further than you normally do so that you can
elongate your neck and have a more flattering jawline in the image.
2. Shift weight. Normally you want to shift your weight a little more to one
side or leg. When your weight is distributed equally, you create a more
flat look. Putting some more curves in your body makes for a more
interesting pose.
3. Create distance between your torso and arm. Don’t press your arms
against your waist. Create a little space as this will make for a more
aesthetically pleasing pose.
4. Don’t face the camera straight on. Normally, it is more flattering when
you angle your body slightly to one side. Not too much though!
5. Stand tall with shoulders back. You don’t want a slouched look in your
photos. Feel like you have a string attached to your head and roll your
shoulders back. This will make you look longer and give you a nice
posture for your photos.
6. Have fun, try new things, and get into the flow. Although there are
some rules to posing, they are also meant to be broken. Don’t be afraid
to try something new and experiment. Move around and find your flow.
If the image doesn’t turn out well, we can always delete it! Photography
is also an art, so have fun and get creative with your posing!
